Studied Cybernetic Engineering as a special area of Electrical Engineering at the Technische Universität München and received the Dipl.-Ing. degree (equivalent to a MSEE plus additional coursework). For those puzzled by cybernetics, it is "the science of control and communication in the animal and the machine" (Norbert Wiener). Currently working on a Professional Certificate in Bioinformatics from UCSD Extension. This seems to be a good continuation from cybernetics.
